Dress COde
Dear Parents of McLaughlin Strickland Tigers,
Our number one priority at McLaughlin Strickland is to provide your child with the best, positive learning experience in a safe environment. We believe that standardized dress (uniforms) has a positive impact on both students’ learning and their behavior. McLaughlin Strickland Elementary will be consistently enforcing the following dress code guidelines, which are more comprehensive than the CFBISD Dressing and Grooming Guidelines.
For a more detailed version of the McLaughlin Strickland Dress Code:
Polo Shirt Colors:
- White, Navy Blue or Red
Pant Colors:
- Navy Blue or Khaki
Acceptable bottoms:
- Shorts, pants, skorts, skirts, jumpers.
Not Acceptable:
- Shirts that do NOT have a collar. Undershirts may NOT be worn as shirts.
- Shirts that are NOT correct color.
Leggings:
- Leggings may be worn under shorts or skirts, however, they may not be worn as pants. Leggings must be a solid color: navy blue, black, or tan.
Free Dress Wear:
- We feel it’s important that students express themselves, therefore we will have Free Dress Fridays. On Fridays, students are not required to wear uniforms and can wear McLaughlin Strickland Spirit wear, jeans, or anything that parents deem appropriate and aligns to the ‘CFBISD Dressing and Grooming Guidelines’

Regular Elementary School Day Hours (including Pre-k) are from 7:30 A.M. to 2:50 P.M.
Breakfast is served daily from 7:00 A.M. to 7:25 A.M.
Students leaving before dismissal: In order to maximize instructional time, we ask that no child leave after 2:15 P.M. If your must pick your child up early for an appointment, please come to the office and sign your child out before 2:15 P.M.
Lunch Visitors
In order to ensure that we have enough seats for all families, we have designated days for grade levels when you can visit. You must have a valid form of ID to eat lunch with students, and you must sign in at the office.
- Monday - 1st (11:00) & 4th (12:30)
- Tuesday - Kinder (10:30) & 3rd (12:00)
- Wednesday - Pre-K (10:00)
- Thursday - 2nd (11:30) & 5th (1:00)
- Friday; No Visitors
